our expertise
OPEN offers companies and culture houses consultancy on media and culture accessibility, both in terms of technology and content, always based on the most recent scientific research. We are partners in projects and in contract research in which we combine our domain-specific knowledge with our extensive network of both experts and users in order to achieve optimal results.
OPEN also carries out (pilot) projects in collaboration with its partners on innovative aspects of media accessibility, such as an inclusive audio guide for a museum; pre-recorded subtitles for theatre combined with audio description and sign interpreter on the same tablet; pre-recorded audio description for dance or machine translation for audio description.
OPEN organizes specialized activities for language professionals, media, cultural and policy makers in the field of media and cultural accessibility. For example, we organized workshops on themes such as audio description for film, theatre, opera, art and accessibility management, and developed tailor-made training courses for internal company teams on intralingual live subtitling, interlingual live subtitling or audio description.
